Putting Your Money in Cashmere Wools
If you are still undecided on what area to invest in during these parlous times, then it might be a good area to invest in the breeding of goats for the production of cashmere wool. This type of wool is very finely textured compared to other wool and provides great insulation despite being extremely lightweight. It is very strong and soft too and is often called as “ring shawls” because they are fine enough to pull through a small ring.
A 100% cashmere wool fabric is very soft to the touch while the 70%-30% variety (a combination with 30% silk in it) hangs better when worn. Both wool fabrics are available in a variety of dyed colours which stay fast (does not fade, run or stain when washed). Some of the more intrepid investors have turned to artificial breeding of these goats. The word artificial refers only to the way the goats are kept and the way their wool is harvested as contrasted with getting cashmere wool from the wild goats in the Himalayas. Breed goats are kept in pens but still in their natural mountainous surroundings.
