Controlling Possibilities with Technology
Human knowledge and technology has allowed man to control his environment to an extent not possible with other life forms. It is only humankind who had changed the world for better or for worse and sometimes we are seeing the overall effects of this knowledge. As it is, technology has quite a broad definition but it generally encompasses anything that can be passed from one generation to the next and useful from one place to another.
In general, technology is that body of scientific knowledge used in a systematic way to help improve man's situation or his environment. That includes, as examples, tools, machines and even virtual knowledge such as computer software, accounting procedures and business management methods. Man has changed his environment to an extent impossible to think about even just a few centuries ago and this is shown in global warming and climate change. His complete mastery of the elements of nature makes man superior to other animals.
